Why We Do What We Do |

At the age of fifteen I had the opportunity to be selected as member of The Future Farmers of America National Chorus. I well remember the scolding I received from the Director because my attention was focused on the "process" of the Record being made and not on the duties of the Choir. Through High School I played in the orchestra, sang in the Senior Choir, worked 'Front of House' sound on the stage crew and studied classical guitar with the renowned Miguel Bernal. I aquired an Akai four track reel-to-reel and began recording in multi-track and bouncing to cassette. In some ways, it's a good thing that magnetic tape has a limited shelf life.

These experiences helped prepare me for an audition with The U.S. Army Band. Much to my surprise, I headed off to the U.S. Navy School of Music-Army Element. I expected an arduous exercise in the finer points of Marching Band. Although some of that did exist, I was literally thrown into the world of music making: jazz theory, ear training, arrangement, composition, improvisation and performance techniques. After touring with the Army's Brushfire Big Band I followed my passion to Texas where I played a variety of genres and venues, including a stint with the great Willie D. McFalls (Blues Boy Willie). Returning to Phoenix, I pursued "That Country Sound" eventually arranging for and playing in the House Band for 'New Times: New Music Venue of the Year.' These opportunities and associations are important because they have put me in a unique spot...to help you capture the Magic of your Music. Over Ten Years of Audio Engineering experience, decades of large venue performanceand a lifetime of commitment. |
